Only taco shop I go to in Ventura. Fresh made corn tortillas and amazing service. Drive out of my way to eat here at least once a week.
Food is authentic, fresh, and in my opinion the best in the area- the menu has a nice selection. It is also open til 10pm!

I loved this place. Food was great and tasted super fresh, service was very nice and quick. I wouldn't go here for the ambiance, as it's pretty small and just has an outside dining area, but the food makes it worth. I'd go here again, and so should you!
The meat as a lot of flavor. Perfect size. The service is fast they bring out your food in less than 10 minutes. You get the beach air and a nice fire of the mountains
I ordered two shrimp tacos, the service was quick for lunch time. The shrimp were big and flavorful, the sauce was delicious and definitely had a kick! Will be back to try other menu items.
I'm convinced Taqueria Ventura Doña Raquel makes the best menudo in Ventura. So if that's what's you're looking for, you found it! It does take a while to get your food, but at least you know it's going to be fresh! There's usually just 1 cashier upfront, and the interaction is just transactional. The only issue I sometimes run into is the area where the restaurant is located, but you can order to go.
This place is awesome! Not only have they done early morning catering for me before but the food is delicious. They do get busy and the parking is limited so if you have time constraints, plan accordingly. They are super accommodating and the food comes out fairly quick. The breakfast burritos and tamales are great... but the sopas are absolute fire. I love the amount of choices they have (pozole, menudo, albondigas, birria, caldo de res). I am a huge birria fan so I got some on a cold rainy day... omg just stop! Great flavor, super hot; cebolla, cilantro, arroz y limon! The kicker? HOMEMADE TORTILLAS! This is the cherry on top for me! I'll definitely head back soon during these cold days for my soup fix. Great place! Give it a try!
